Manuka Oil - Probably New Zealand's most widely used native plant. Everything from tonics and teas to lip balms and honey is infused with Manuka's goodness and sold on the shelves. In the deodorant, they use it for its soothing and neutralizing properties to bring the odor under control. Kawakawa extract - Kawakawa in Te Reo Māori refers to the bitter taste of the leaves, from kawa means bitter. Kawakawa or NZ Pepper Tree was one of the most important plants in Rongoa (medicine). Maori used it topically for cuts, wounds, and bruises, and also used it to treat toothache, nettle stings, and eczema. All of this leads them to believe that it is a great ingredient for a cleansing, soothing body wash. Aloe Vera - Most of us are well aware of the benefits and properties of this fantastic plant. Ask anyone with a sunburn what they're reaching for, and the answer is aloe vera. You use aloe vera because of its all-round properties to inhibit bacterial and fungal activity. The calming and cooling effects of aloe vera add to the overall feel of the deodorant. Baking powder / sodium bicarbonate - Baking powder is alkaline, counteracts the bacteria-loving acids in sweat and acts as a natural counterbalance for the armpit odor. This formula is designed for a low pH that is gentle on the skin but strong enough to mask the effects of bacteria and the odor they create. Lavender Extract - They use a bespoke infusion of organic lavender as a vehicle to get all of the other fragrance ingredients on the show.
