A selection of natural ingredients from witch hazel, sage and lavender is considered optimal for this task.

Witch hazel has antibacterial properties and a tissue constricting effect, removing excess oil and moisture and constricting the applied skin. Sage has antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that are relevant at times when the performance of the deodorant is particularly needed, such as times of stress or sports. Lavender enhances the action of the other ingredients with its obvious antiseptic and antifungal properties. Triethyl citrate prevents the enzymatic breakdown of sweat into odor-forming components. By lowering the pH of the area to which it is applied, the bacteria responsible for the unwanted odor have an even harder time developing.

Natural fruit alcohols further protect against odor formation and create a constricting tissue effect that contracts the affected pores, further reducing sweating.
