While this way of slicking hair back grew in popularity, it didn't smell very pleasant. The French then added apples to the mix to make the scent more appealing. The French word for apple is pomme, and that's how pomades were born. Reuzel does not use pork fat and most products are even vegan, but the pig as a trademark on the jar should not be missing.
