Layrite's passionate founder, Donnie Hawley, was always on a quest to perfect his clients' haircuts. His technique was hampered by the traditional petroleum-based products his clients wore that didn't rinse out. Never wanting to limit the style, but still committed to an upscale hairdressing standard; Donnie struggled to find a solution. The end result was a water-soluble pomade that was formulated to "hold like wax and wash out like gel." After one of Donnie's patrons noticed that his pomade was the only product that got his hair right, a brand was born. Since then, Layrite Men's Grooming Products have set standards in traditional hairdressing and men's grooming. Often imitated but never reproduced, these products have become the staple brand used by hairdressers around the world looking for quality and authenticity.
